Holidays

Just came back from a holiday in Devon. Only had an hour and a half delay on the M5 on the way there!!! Bit better on the way back.
The weather was changable, thinks that's the only way to describe it. It rained most days but not for all of the day and not really hard.

We got up to allsorts, from lazing in front of the TV to Quad biking.

The scenery was excellent.

And when it was really cold we just got out the BBQ and set fire to some burgers.

Fun had by all.

long time, no see

Wow, I've not posted anything in ages. I must be the worst blogger going.

So much has happened I can't be bothered to tell you any of it :o)

Ok just a couple of things then.
I got a new camera, here is a couple of pictures taken by me.

I bought the camera as I've been asked to take photos at my cousin's wedding in September.
I was asked by auntie Sue to take pics at her 40th birthday. The results can be found at their family blog. Link below. http://thehughessnews.blogspot.com/
My wife also got me a present.
A nice new Dyson vacuum cleaner. Apparently it's a power tool so sits in my domain.
Can't fault her logic :o)

This is a good morning

I'm getting married today. You may ask, what am I doing writting a blog when I should be getting ready. Well, I woke up and got up stupidly early so while the others in the house are running around wildly, I'm just sitting here having a chill safe in the knowledge I don't need to be nervous until 1pm. So only 3 1/2 hours to go.
Slight panic yesterday though, when checking the suits we discovered that there was a pair of trousers slightly different so the rest. It took a while to spot though, among 5 pairs of black trousers there was a random grey pin stripe pair. Good job the shop checked them!!
I will attempt to remain calm but I can't see that lasting.

More DIY

Well, as of Saturday the house is fully coved. 2 nights to pull all the coving down. 8 nights to put it all up again. A big thank you to the resident decorator, you know who you are. Now maybe we can get on with the actual painting.
Also, with alot of help from Dad and Brother a shed has been errected in the back garden. This was done at Easter bank holiday. It would appear that bank holidays are for DIY and not to laze around in the house with a drink in one hand and the tv remote in the other. Those were the days.

Wedding stuff

I've only had to do one thing for the wedding on my own, sort out the suit hire.
I went to Moss Bros (other suit hire places are available) with a few of the lads, tried on a few suits, all sorted.
No, couldn't even get that right. I got the wrong colour cravat.
All sorted now, went back to the shop with my girlfriend and ordered the correct colour.
That'll teach me for laughing at another bloke in there. He had his bride to be with him, poor bloke couldn't get a word in.

DIYing

"It's a very nice hole in the door dear but don't you think it'll be a bit draughty?"

"I can see my house from here!"

"Never touched it mate, it just all fell off, it was like it when I got here..."

So much going on

Look at this, I've not posted anything and so much has happened.
I've started a new job which I'm trying to get out of.
Me and my lovely girlfriend have bought a house and are doing it up a bit.
Wedding preparations are steaming on and all could possibly be ready before the big day. Must sort some suit hire.

My first posting

I'm not sure what I'm doing but the point and click simplicity of the Blogger site seems to be getting me through it ok.

I'll leave it here for now and see if it's working and write something more coherent later if it is.
